ロンドン在住の日本人デザイナーRyo Yamazaki氏とKohji Yanagi氏により立ち上げられたファッションレーベル、BREAKSのAW11コレクションが公開された。
ファーストコレクションとなる今回は、上質な素材によるシャープなシルエットにパンクのディティールが施され、ジップにより着脱可能なロングジャケット、袖口に印象的な赤が差し込まれたナポレオンジャケット、無数のスタッズが施されたロングスカートなどを展開。
エレガンスと現代社会におけるパンクを同居される事で、若さ故の葛藤が表現されている。

BREAKS is a London-based Mens wear label, founded by Ryo Yamazaki and Kohji Yanagi in late 2010. Both of them are originally from Japan, based in London now.
The concept of our label is basically “Rock” – and especially focuses on modern punk elements. This particular element displays punk mixed with a modern essence. The collection is inspired by an admiration of adults and their refusal to society in a way that the youth feel. It contains classic, minimal, and sharp modern elements. On the other hand, you will see some expressions such as rough, hard, and spiky as the image of punk. Trying to display them with good harmony of mixing modern shape and punkish materials such as leathers and metals leads to make classic details loose and stay in modern aesthetics.
BREAKSはRyoYamazaki氏とKohji Yanagi氏により２０１０年末に立ち上げられたロンドンを拠点とするメンズウェアレーベル。日本人である両デザイナーは現在ロンドンで活動している。
レーベルの基本となるコンセプトは「Rock」。特に現代におけるパンクにフォーカスしており、現代のエッセンスをミックスさせたパンクを表現する。今回のコレクションは、若者が感じる大人への憧憬と社会への拒絶をインスピレーションに、クラシックでミニマル、そしてシャープな現代的要素を有している一方で、荒々しくハードで尖ったパンクのイメージも表現されている。モダンなシェイプとレザーやメタル等のパンキッシュなマテリアルとの調和からそれらの要素を提示する事で、クラシックなディティールは解き放たれ、現代的な美学が施されている。
