july 9th

- is a great day to let squirrels free but first you have to make sure that they have a nice future ahead of them.

- today i found a spinach leaf in my favourite plate.

- on my way home i passed a tiger wearing sunglasses.

- today my club (click here to read about us) decided on our weekly day of things we have not done before – it will include shells, old trains and fishermen. tomorrow saturday the 10th will be our weekly day and soon i will tell you all about it!

-oh what a nice day to read german translated poems of ossip mandelstam:

Nicht ein Wort ist zu verlieren
Nichts zu lehren weit und breit –
Schön die Seele, Trauer spürend
Tier ist sie und Dunkelheit:
Keine Lehre will sie ziehen,
Nicht ein Wort, das sie behält –
Jung durchschwimmt sie,
ein Delphin
Weiße Schluchten alter Welt
Ossip Mandelstam, Der Stein
ins Deutsche gebracht von Ralph Dutli
and also a good day to listen to:

marvis

if you think brushing your teeth is boring – get yourself marvis toothpaste “jasmin mint”. its so delicious that its almost like eating a candy.
i have friends over from antwerp and last night and this morning we been sitting all next to one another in the bathroom brushing really really long our teeth.
its nice to brush teeth in groups but even more with marvis! try it.

oh and then we went to my favourite place for breakfast:

“st.john”

and we shared

Old Spot Bacon Sandwich

Porridge & Prunes

Brioche & Poached Seasonal Fruits

Pikelets & Jam

all very delicious!

what is it about the fire?

What is it about the fire?

So calm and peaceful but…

…inside, all power and destruction.

It´s hiding something.

Just like people do.

Sometimes you have to get close

to find out what´s inside.

Sometimes you have to get burned

to see the truth.

( tekkon kinkreet 2006)

last night

i went to see arcade fire.

weekly day of things we have not done before! – club

so i founded a new club with some of my friends

“the weekly day of things we have not done before – club.”

every week we meet up one day and do something we have never done before.

it can be really spectacular things such as an insect safari in the countryside of england or something wild such as doing a bike race together or something quiet such as laying somewhere new and being silent together or something simple like going to an area in london we have never been or something with patience such as listening to music while knitting together a scarf for next winter…

i will now weekly!! report from our meetings.!

new members are welcome.!

remember

do you remember (click here) ?

yesterday the first letter response arrived from brooklyn!

early this morning i went down to the deck to watch the wild dances of the water striders. they dance so madly – its wonderful to watch.

riding whales

today in the garden behind tali’s house i discovered a stone which looks like a buried humpback whale. i was sitting on it. i always wanted to ride a whale.

tali and me

“i lie in bed and tell myself stories. they might not add up to much, but as long as i’m inside of them, they prevent me of thinking about things i would prefer to forget. concentration can be a problem, however, and more often than not my mind eventually drifts away from the story i’m trying to tell to the things i don’t want to think about. there’s nothing to be done. ….”

nature makes me so happy – it always makes me feel really calm and happy inside. i love the moment when the silence of the nature turns into a huge soundscape of winds in the leafs, bees dancing around flowers, birds singing and even your own sounds of breathing becomes part of the whole. its great because first its really quite… or you think its really quite… but then slowly one sound after the other adds up. you think there is nothing but there is so much. its a nice experience.

i am happy to say that last night was the first night since weeks that i could sleep. i suffered strong insomnia lately. every evening i was a bit afraid to lay down as my mind was drifting constantly to the things i didn’t want to think about. i would sleep an hour or two but then be waken by thoughts and feelings of the past.
i could not lay still. all i wanted to do was to be in constant movement. its easy to not think if you walk and i walked so much the past weeks.

here its different. its nice to be still.
and last night i slept for hours and hours.

i am staying here outside of stockholm on a small island in a wonderful house (almost like a moomin house) with my great friend tali and her dog mia.

today i will clean the boat and then this afternoon i would like to take tali out a bit on the lake…
