african flags of the fante

The moon always follows the sun

i have 3 friends in london called stefan.

1. stefan from germany
2. stefan from mexico
3. stephane from france

yesterday i went with stephane (no.3) for a day trip to peckham.

we went to some nice african shops and stores:

i found a lovely blue and pink scarf from ghana – which so the lady in the store said looked good ( well she did not said it… but she put her thumb up) – so i bought it.

we quickly made friends with the lady´s in the shop.

they liked us because:

- we did an african fashion show with colourful fabrics, neckless´s and scarfs
- we showed them how we dance to ragga and dancehall
- we shared some dark chocolates
- we made them smile and laugh

oh.!
is good to make friends in un-kown areas so they can help you to find your way.

they send us with love to a great african food place in peckham called “AGROBESO”.

visit if you ever around:
139 Peckham High Street, Peckham
London, SE15 5SL

we ate:

stephan – okra with fish and rice!
daniel – fufu with goats soup!

(okra with fish and rice! was recommended by the ladies.)

while eating we made friends with a sweet lady with the lovely name “NaNa”.!
she told us lots of stories about ghana, african foods, her sons and family and about life wisdoms such as:

“walk with a song in your head.!”

i like to walk with a song in my head – its such a nice saying.

she invited us to sing and dance with her family soon!

it made me happy to find so many nice people in peckham. and i will go to visit soon again.

the day ended with a late bus drive home while looking at a book about “african flags of the fante”.

its nice to be in africa from time to time!

the next morning started with a wonderful african poem:

The moon always follows the sun

Calm down little brother
Time heals all wounds
No matter how much one is weeping
The moon always follows the sun.
Eat your banana’s and fresh leaves,
And don’t cry anymore,
Because forever and ever
The moon will follow the sun.

book

Filep Motwary: So how you want your book to look like really then?

Daniel Sannwald: Timeless, elegant, poetic and consistent. I want the book to be an object to which work and myself can relate.

-How about the readers? What do you want them to see in this book?

The title of my book will be ” Pluto and Charon”

“The system of Pluto and Charon is unusual among planetary systems in that each is tidally locked to the other: Charon always presents the same face to Pluto, and Pluto always presents the same face to Charon….“

The publication will build up on the concept of these two planets. I want the readers to feel that they are holding a nice object in their hands and give them a more deep understanding of my work and me.

THE BOOK “Daniel Sannwald – Pluto and Charon” WILL BE PUBLISHED BY END OF THIS YEAR

feeling like colours

hello.! that is me with a children picture books i like very much.

The title would be translated : feelings are like colors!

and i really think feelings are like colors… today i will meet james in the park and i will get his nice painting (remember??? click here if not!)

today i feel like this page of the book ( soft greens and gentle tones of blue) :

fungi foray!

I would love to look for Boletus Edulis, Russula Virescens, Coprinus Comatus and all of that…
i think i am a born mushroom hunter…
wandering around forests and parks, hills and valleys, alongside small rivers and rocky paths. wearing clothes in all kind of shades of greens and browns. (and maybe with a hat and a walking stick).
preparing stuffed mushrooms, mushroom and winter veg pie´s, mushroom tagliatelle, odessa mushroom zhulien, smoked salmon with wild mushroom and all of that…

yesterday my friend stefan and i signed up for an autumn fungi forays workshop…. yuuhuuu.!

A world full of mushrooms – lets go!

BANANA

Imagine you get named after your favourite food and people would have names such as “curry”, “souvlaki”, “tofu”, “butter”, “cherry”…

well… in china one of my friends is called “banana”.!

when he grew older he started to felt slightly embarrassed about his name… so he secretly changed the name from b-a-n-a-n-a ———-to———- “BAN”.

my favourite banana dish is : banana split!

next time i see “ban” i will honour his name and take him out to share a huge banana split with me.

dragon style vs panda style

instead of exploring the unknown life of pandas… i ended up learning the secret moves of the beijing dragon.! as i proudly joined a chinese hip hop dance crew and practiced the teachings of the dragon dance style.

but honestly… air max, dragon moves and dim sum´s are as priceless as a panda safari!

tyrannosaurus

childrens books typically feature anything from frogs or cats or pigs to dinosaurs and sometimes even people. those picture books by Tatsuya Miyanishi have all those!
in my new favourite book he tells about a tyrannosaurus.

I like it very much for two main reasons:

A.)

B.)
every time i look at the book i can make up a new interpretation of the story as i bought it in chinese

thinking about cyprus

today i was here but thinking about there.

thinking about how we both went to the crystal healer and i asked for:
kindness, the now and courage
and how the healer laid circles of stones over my body
1 circle : shades of red stones
2 circle : shades of turquoise stones
3 circle: shades of purple stones

thinking about the white rocks we being climbing.

dreaming of our boat and how we sailed to the blue lagoon.
and thinking about our jeep and how we did a herb safari and how we stopped from time to time to plug herbs and fruits and how we ate fresh grapes, bananas and pears.
how we acquaintance a bull, turtle babies and lots of goats.

thinking of how we took pictures together

thinking about how we took a swim in adonis bath.

the myth says:
men will become stronger once they swim in adonis waters.
and if you swim together in the waters you will fall in love.

**

but then i had enough of thinking and i crawled out of my bed and went for a wander with tali and her dog mia.
