DANIEL SANNWALD

Born in Germany in 1979, Daniel Sannwald is emerging as one of the true original voices in contemporary photography. In a landscape dominated by referential and repetitive imagery, Daniel is establishing a strong and recognizable signature that is already catching the attention of some of the most influential trendsetters in the fashion and photography industries. His surrealistic and hauntingly beautiful images speak of a world were Fashion and Art meet to reveal a unique narrative.
Daniel studied at the Royal Academy in Antwerp and is now based in London.
Daniel contributes to numerous magazines. Amongst them: Dazed & Confused, i-D, Vogue Hommes Japan, V magazine and Qvest. now i wish it would be already tomorrow!

but honestly these days i wish that every evening….
but manly because i cant wait for the next morning to eat my delicious muesli mix.
but also because every day is filled with so many little wonders at the moment. and that of course is wonderful!

3.

A dictionary of Quotations and proverbs

with wonderful sayings such as:

Every light has its shadow.

mountain and ocean

the last thing i remember is you talking about “confident”.

but i think you meant “contentment”.

yesterday i traveled up north.
behind inconspicuous doors, down stair and through small hallways, in a huge back room with a massive golden buddha and orchids i started the studies of sogyal rinpoche.

my body is a mountain and my gaze is an ocean.

profound stillness.

ME or how my new club starts with a tear

i founded a new club!

you all know
but now i founded

“ME time – club.”

member = one / me

I had a long talk with my friend Sebastian about the inner child and how wonderful and importnat it is to listen and use one of our strongest inner callings.
Its great if you make time for the things your inner child wants to.
its wonderful to do something just for yourself and something without the need to function for anyone else then for yourself. its a really nice and important experience.

Yesterday i had my first club time!

i encountered a lot of nice emotions yesterday and my time ended with a unexpected tear on my cheek.

one of my next big callings will be for a rainy day.
i want to wear really huge rain boots and jump in the biggest rain puddles around my house – trying to make the biggest and loudest splashes i can.

the inner child mostly has simple wishes but these wishes will feel very huge in emotions if performed honestly and free!

i can highly recommend everyone to open up there own clubs!
its so nice to do what you feel for. its hard and also maybe difficult at first but…

well just try!

bela tarr × daniel sannwald

what happens when Béla Tarr and Daniel Sannwald join forces?

i will tell you in a couple of days!

i am so excited.

“GHOSTS WITHIN”

ana montiel told me yesterday something really nice:

“Sometimes the growth of a quartz crystal is interrupted resulting in the formation of a “phantom crystal” within a larger host. During this pause, the crystal can become coated by another mineral. Occasionally the cap of the host crystal becomes detached”.

things inside things, inside things… Hidden and bounded forever or unbounded but still connected..

home / part2

yesterday late at night i finished my room and i could not wait to wake up this morning and to look at my new place.!
apart of my bed i builded all my furniture myself.!

such as:

wardrobe = 8 books + 4 ropes + ladder + metal stick

cabinet = 5 cardboard boxes + 2 fabrics + painting

my oldest piece in my room are broken vase pieces (ming dynasty)

my favourite spot in my room is a drawn circle and a nail on the wall next to my door – they indicate the exact distance of sun (nail) and earth (circle)
